From 10 to 12 June 2022, the second edition of the ‚Galileo Galilei Science&Space Festival‘ took place in Darmstadt, at the ESA-ESOC headquarters (Robert-Bosch-Str. 5). This festival was dedicated to the dissemination of scientific topics and to the
recognition and valorisation of the extraordinary network of Italian researchers in Italy and abroad. This Festival was meant to underline the fact that Italy is a great country of science and technological research.
This year’s edition of the Festival was organised over three days and was able to count as speakers Italian scientists and researchers working in leading universities and research centres, some of which are located in our consular district.
We thanks all the speakers and the partners who co-organized this event such as: ESA-ESOC, GSI-FAIR, EUMETSAT, Università degli Studi di Padova, Italian Culture Club ESOC, Italian Chamber of Commerce for Germany, Società Dante Alighieri – Circolo di Darmstadt, Editori Laterza, Raffaello Cortina Editore, Feltrinelli editore, C.H. Guests at this event, with talks and presentations in Italian and English,were: Guido TONELLI (Prof. at the University of Pisa and physicist at CERN Geneva), Francesca CIPOLLINI (Directorate of Earth Observation Programm – ESA), Telmo PIEVANI (Prof. at the University of Padova), Livio MASTRODDI (Head of Department, EUMETSAT-Darmstadt), Walter TINGANELLI (Senior Scientist at GSI-FAIR- Darmstadt), Paolo FERRI (Former Head of ESA Mission Operations at ESOC, now author and president of Italian Culture Club ESOC) and Alberica TOIA (Prof. at the University J.W. Goethe- Frankfurt).
