FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

DOCUMENTS AND CERTIFICATES. All documents must be presented in original; a photocopy is also required. This also includes the applicants passports and German residence permits.

PASSPORTS AND TRAVEL DOCUMENTS. Make sure that your passport has a validity of at least three months beyond the visa you are applying for. Also, make sure that at least two empty ‘VISA’ pages are left.

 MINORS. If one or both parents do not appear in person on the application day, a parental consent notarised by a German notary is mandatory.

 VISA FEE. Visa fees are payable in cash (euro) and Maestro card at the Visa Office of this Consulate.

ERASMUS STUDENTS. Erasmus students (enrolled in a German University) that aim to spend in Italy up to 1 year to integrate their German study programme do not need an Italian visa. Erasmus students are only required to register at the local Questura within 8 working days from their entry in Italy.

STUDY VISA. Students who aim to enroll in an Italian University must apply for a visa within the 29th of November. ATTENTION: A certified B2-level knowledge of Italian or English (depending on the classes which will be attended) is required.

APPOINTMENTS FOR FAMILIES. Families are allowed to book 1 single appointment for all its members.
