From 12 to 14 June 2025<\/strong>, the fifth edition of the \u201cGalileo Galilei Science&Space Festival\u201d<\/strong> will take place in Frankfurt and Darmstadt<\/strong>.<\/p>\n This festival is dedicated to the popularisation of scientific culture and topics and to highlighting the extraordinary network of Italian researchers in Italy and abroad.<\/p>\n This science festival, which is free and open to the public, subject to prior booking, is intended once again this year to be a concrete testimony to the leading role played by Italy in the field of fundamental science and technological research. The fifth edition presents some important novelties.<\/p>\n It starts on Thursday 12 June, at 7 p.m., at the Physikalischer Verein<\/strong> in Frankfurt (Robert-Mayer-Str.2\/FFM) with the celebration of ESA’s 50th anniversary and a lectio magistralis<\/em> by Dr. Ian CARNELLI, <\/strong>Head of the Systems Department at the European Space Technology Centre (ESA-ESTEC) based in Noordwijk, who will speak on the topic \u201cPlanetary Defense Activities at the European Space Agency – Working Towards Protecting the Earth from the Asteroids Threat\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Dr. Paolo Ferri of the Italian Culture Club ESOC-EUMETSAT will moderate the meeting, in English. Q&A in English and Italian.<\/p>\n Admission is free<\/strong> and no booking is necessary. Further information<\/strong> can be found here<\/a> or in the festival programme<\/a><\/p>\n On Saturday 14 June<\/strong>, the Festival will move to Darmstadt,<\/strong> this time to the ESA-ESOC Presse Centre<\/strong> \u00a0– Building H – (Robert-Bosch-Str. 5 – Darmstadt), where, starting at 17:15<\/strong>, we will have the opportunity to listen to Professors Annalisa Dominoni and Benedetto QUAQUARO<\/strong> (professors at the Politecnico Milano\/Dept. of Design), who will give a lecture in Italian on \u201c<\/strong><\/em>DESIGN SPAZIALE ITALIANO \u2013 Abitare lo Spazio\u201d <\/em><\/strong>introduced and moderated by Silvia Sangiorgi.
